Hiroshima, Japan – established on May 2, 1997

Hiroshima is a pilot globalization city that boasts of beautiful natural scenery and pleasant urban landscape as well as over 100 bridges across six rivers. The city has been making efforts to become an “international city of peace and culture” and change its image from a city of nuclear bombing to a city of peace and international cooperation. The city’s main industries are automobile-related industries, machinery, and food, and it is also home to Mazda, the fifth largest carmaker in Japan, as well as Mitsubishi Heavy Industries’ Hiroshima plant. Hiroshima’s residents love its baseball team (Hiroshima Toyo Carp) and soccer team (Sanfrecce Hiroshima), which have been doing well in their leagues.
