Daegu National Industrial Complex

Daegu National Industrial Complex

In order to create new regional growth engines, the city of Daegu will construct the Daegu National Industrial Complex in Guji-myeon, Dalseong-gun, Daegu. The complex, which will measure 8.5㎢ in total area and welcome 24,000 people to its residential, commercial, and research facilities, is slated for completion in 2018. The building site was officially designated a National Science and Industrial Complex in September 2009 by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport, and construction is well underway. The Daegu National Industrial Complex aims to attract businesses in future-oriented automobiles, high-tech machinery, next generation electronics and communications, and renewable energy—fields which will soon serve as new growth engines for the region. Upon completion, the complex will form a new industrial belt along Nakdonggang River, together with the 1st-5th Seongseo Industrial Complexes, 1st and 2nd Dalseong Industrial Complexes, Technopolis, and Hyeonpung Industrial Complex. The Daegu National Industrial Complex will also work in close cooperation with large industrial complexes in Gumi (electronics), Masan and Changwon (machinery), and Ulsan and Busan (automobiles). The green, cutting-edge complex will play a pivotal role in transforming the existing industrial structure of Daegu—focused on textiles, general machinery and automotive parts—to one that specializes in high-tech sectors such intelligent automotive parts, embedded software, and solar energy.
