Friendship Cities

Yancheng (盐城), China – since December 7, 2003

Yancheng is currently undergoing a transformation, from its focus on traditional industries such as automobile, machinery, textile, chemical engineering, and agricultural products to emerging industries, including scientific technology, modern logistics, ecological tourism, eco-friendly and energy saving industries, big data, smart device, advanced equipment, and new materials. Of more than 1,100 enterprises in its economic development zone, over 300 are foreign enterprises. Yancheong is also known for well-preserved nature and ecosystem, as it is home to the largest milu (Père David’s deer) habitat in the world, which was designated as a UNESCO Man and Biosphere Reserve in 1955, and the migratory bird sanctuaries, which were inscribed as UNESCO’s World Heritage sites in 2019.
