The capital of Liaoning Province and a sub-provincial city, Shenyang is the largest central city in northeastern China and a traditional heavy industry base. The city’s major industries include machinery, automobile, equipment manufacturing, pharmaceutical, chemical, and aerospace industries, and attracted foreign companies, such as Korea’s POSCO, United States’ GM, and Germany’s BMW.
