Photo exhibition of Asia’s orchids, rare flora on show at Daegu Arboretum

Daegu is ringing in the spring season with a colorful photo exhibition of Asia’s orchids and rare flora at the Daegu Arboretum from April 17 to 26.

○ Daegu City said yesterday that tourists and residents can look forward to a stream of concerts to be held all over the city following its small “Pongdang Pongdang Concert” held on April 13.

○ Plans are under way to showcase outdoor concerts within the city from April to October. The key locations will be central areas that attract a lot of foot traffic. Daegu City said it plans to organize classical music concerts and creative activities for families to enjoy in time with the enactment of the five-day school week

No. 3 monorail line receives patent protection

Daegu City said that the “glass-fiber reinforced cement,” the key technology in the Line No. 3 monorail line now under construction, had successfully acquired patent protection rights, while its PSC railway bridge beam had also gained patent rights as a Korean innovation.
